QUINTETTO | ROMA | interactive installation
“Quintetto” is an installation created starting from the study of expressive modalities that combine the motor randomness of objects and / or animated beings with the production of sounds and images.
The basic design idea is to "reveal" what we call "hidden concerts", giving new voice and expressiveness to seemingly banal and invisible inputs from everyday life.
In this case, the motor randomness of 5 goldfish positioned in as many display cases-aquarium is used, within which their movement, completely unpredictable and random, is captured by a video camera and converted into digitized signals which in turn generate frequencies. harmonic sound, variable according to the continuous change in the position of the moving fish. A real musical concert is thus generated, created by the “quintet” of the little fishes and absolutely unpredictable both in the sequence of sound frequencies and in their mixing.
